Achieving greener waste
Taking care of our environment is, increasingly, a key issue for individuals as well as for governments. Where individuals are concerned, this means acting responsibly when getting rid of unwanted things – and that’s where Waste King can help.
A specialist collections, clearance and recycling company, serving the domestic and commercial markets, Waste King guarantees to recycle over 84 per cent of all the waste it collects from every job it does – and, currently, that rate is nearer 89 per cent. This means that only around 11 per cent of everything the company collects goes to landfill – and Waste King is constantly trying to reduce this percentage even further.
It can maintain this impressively ‘green’ record because the company’s uniformed, Environment Agency-licensed staff segregate waste to ensure that the maximum amount of waste is recycled.
Formed, some five years ago, by Glenn Currie and Andy Cattigan, who were keen to ‘do something to help the environment’, Waste King operates in London, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, and focuses on providing a friendly, efficient, trustworthy and cost-effective service.
Waste King’s Glenn Currie explained: “We provide a wide range of waste collection and recycling services for both domestic and commercial clients including house clearances, office clearance, shop refurbishments, general rubbish removal, garden & garage clearance, wait & load and skip hire, as well as services to companies in the fields of property management and maintenance; interior design; specialist renovation, and general construction.
“Ourrecycling and waste collection services include waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) collections and site waste management plans (SWMP). The company also offers confidential document destruction.”
In the last year or so, Waste King has worked for a number of film and television companies – particularly clearing film sets on location. Waste King director, Andy Cattigan, said: “Whether we’re working with the stars or working on much ‘lower budget’projects, our staff always ensure we recycle the maximum amount of waste. So every one of our customers can be confident that they are disposing of their waste in as green as way as possible.”
