Hazardous Waste collections under 50Kg - The Hazardous Onsite Box
In response to recent regulatory changes, Waste King has developed a new Haz-Box collection service. Specifically tailored to meet the needs of producers who generate small volumes of hazardous waste - such as aerosols, batteries, paints and adhesives, contaminated rags and wipes, oils and cleaning chemicals - the Hazardous Onsite Box provides a cost effective method of ensuring waste producers remain compliant with all disposal legislation.
Using innovative technologies available at Waste King’s Hazardous Waste Transfer Station in Oxfordshire, the Hazardous Onsite Box service not only ensures compliance but also enables the waste producer to recycle a number of hazardous waste streams.
Those using the Hazardous Onsite Box service get a plastic, lidded, storage box, which is emptied weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly.
Waste items must be no greater than 5kgs/litres in order to be stored in the box. Larger hazardous waste items – such as PC screens, fluorescent tubes and fridges /freezers - can be collected alongside this service, ensuring that all 'difficult' wastes for small producers are managed in both a responsible environmental and a legal manner.
Services include the identification of hazardous materials. Where chemicals need to be re-packaged from damaged or unsuitable containers, Waste King provides alternatives approved under EC regulations for safe on-site storage collection.
Hazardous Waste Legislation
To comply with legislation, all hazardous waste must be correctly identified and classified before it is moved. Waste King provides a full sampling and analysis service to ensure that all the regulations are met.
Waste King’s technical specialists will also help with listing, packing and labelling hazardous waste to comply with legislation. Its team includes Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors, Chemists and ADR qualified drivers.
