Charitable Donation

WaCharity 1ste King offer a number of waste and rubbish clearance services, whether commercial or domestic, from the house, garden, garage, loft and cellar. As a result we are left with tonnes of unwanted customer items, such as furniture, clothes and books, which are in perfectly good repair.

Many charities are able to make good use of these items, either to sell in their shops or re-use, which also enables Waste King to increase our recycling and divert from landfill, one of our major goals.

Waste King are now partnered with The British Heart Foundation, The Salvation Army and Age UK.

You can donate or request donation of specific items in the following ways:
Visit our premises in Hemel Hempstead and make use of our Salvation Army clothes and shoes recycling point or the British Heart Foundation book bank. Open 24/7.

Telephone 01442 216784 or email us to arrange a specific collection or identify a specific item for donation, within a general collection or waste clearance.

You can learn more about the charitable works of the British Heart Foundation, Age UK and the Salvation Army by visiting their websites directly.

charitableWaste King wins the British Heart Foundation’s heartfelt thanks Waste King, the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company, has received a certificate from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) recording the BHF’s ‘heartfelt thanks’ for Waste King giving the charity 19 tonnes of recycled books, DVDs and music CDs that can be reused and sold to support the BHF’s work.

Waste King installed recycling points at its premises in the Frogmore Industrial Estate in Hemel Hempstead to help raise funds for its chosen charities including the BHF. Waste King expands its CSR strategy to support Medical Detection Dogs

Waste King, the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company, has recently expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy by pledging to give 30 per cent of its business turnover in one day to Medical Detection Dogs. This pledge is in addition to its continuing practical and monetary support for other charities.

Medical Detection Dogs is a charity that works with researchers, NHS Trusts and Universities. Its work has attracted Lesley Nicol – otherwise known as ‘Mrs Patmore’, in the ITV drama series, Downton Abbey – to become an ambassador for the charity. Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to help people with life threatening health conditions, giving these people greater independence and a higher quality of life. Its dogs are now working with Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust as well as with Bristol University to establish exactly what it is that the dogs are detecting.

The dogs are taught to identify the odour changes that are associated with certain medical events. They alert their ‘owners’; bring any necessary medical supplies such as glucose and blood testing kits, and get help if necessary.
